Oregon Coast
This past weekend Jim and Paula went to the lovely Oregon Coast. They ate great sea food at the Sea Hag, listened to a blind Hawaiian lounge singer, gazed at the ocean, hiked Cape Perpetua, saw the sea lion caves, got engaged, toured Heceta Lighthouse, had a great crab omelette, and saw the Oregon dunes.
Hell has frozen over.
The Fat lady is singing.
The Chickens have come home to roost.
The Iceman has arrived.
I proposed here at our favorite spot, the lovely Inn at Arch Rock in Depot Bay. (see arrow below for exact proposal spot.)
Here's how it went down. And now a brief Q & A with Jim and Paula to answer all those burning questions.
Yes, you read it correctly, we got engaged.

Q-Is Paula preggers?
A-no.
Q-Is one of us terminally ill?
A-no
Q-Then why the hell now are you deciding to get married?
A-Got tired of living an alternative lifestyle, so we thought we’d try the alternative.
Q- Who proposed to who?
A- Jim got tired of waiting and wasn’t going to wait another 29 years hoping Paula would ask him, so he finally popped the question.
Q- What did Paula say.
A- Yes
Q-Did Jim get her a engagement ring?
A-Duh!!, yeah he did. It’s from Tiffany’s, Click here to check it out.
Q-Have you set a date?
A- Seriously folks, it took 29 years just to propose, do you honestly think we’ve thought that far ahead? It will be sometime in the next 29 years.
Q-Where will you get married?
A- Ok, so we have actually thought about this one a little. We’d like to do a small informal thing in the backyard of Jim’s parents house. (I know I haven’t run this by you Mom and Dad, but it’s just an elaborate excuse to showcase your patio).
Q- Is Paula going to take Jim’s name.
A-No, it would be ridiculous to have two people in a marriage called Jim.
Q-Will she take his last name.
A-Now that’s a more intelligent question, and the answer is still no. Paula will always consider herself to be a Fisher, and so will I. And quite frankly she can’t cut a chive fast enough to be a Bailey anyhow. And no we will not be doing any hyphenated or high falootin names like Bailey-Fisher, Von Baileyvonfisher, Bailisher, Bailsher, Fishley, Fishail or any other stupid sounding names.
Q-Will Paula be wearing white?
A-ha ha ha, that's a good one, glad you still have your sense of humor.
Q-Will your wedding have a theme?
A-Of course, Paula and I are still narrowing it down. We have our final four though.
1) Disco theme.
2) Princess Diana theme.
3) Under the Sea theme. (possibility for mermaid bridesmaids dresses)
4) Ole and Lena theme.
Q-Will you be registered anywhere.
A-Paula wanted us to get registered at See's Candies, but I thought a chocolate toaster would likely melt.
